I’m Sami Pyne, an independent producer based in NYC. I’m also the Producing Director at ArKtype, one of the world’s leading producers of new, experimental work, and the Co-Producing Director of the Under the Radar Festival, a festival celebrating new theater and performance works from both around the world and down the street.
I’ve worked with wonderful folks at New York Theatre Workshop, HERE Arts Center, TDF, The Play Company, Signature Theatre, Aged in Wood Productions, Lenfest Center for the Arts at Columbia University, and Signature Theatre. I hold a BFA from Shenandoah Conservatory and an MFA in Theatre Management and Producing from Columbia University School of the Arts.
A project is right for me when you’re looking for a creative partner and a logistical MacGyver. Being on the ground/in the trenches with artists is my favorite part of the job, and I’m always thinking of ways to declutter and demystify the production process for creators.
